The Kirwin Community Wellness Center

The Kirwin Community Wellness Center project is underway.

In February 2007 it was decided to try to open a center for the betterment of the community that would improve our health awareness in this changing, aging world.  Some of the plans underway are for nutritional counseling to be available to all ages for heart health, diabetes, and other concerns of our community residents.  The Phillips County EMS team have agreed to partnered  with us to teach and give First Aid, CPR training, blood pressure clinics and other heath education sessions. Also we are focusing on improving the school children's health education and exercise.

The Post #277 of the American Legion donated the historic American Legion Hall to us for use as our wellness center.  Efforts are being made to restored and rejuvenated it. It will be a wonderful addition to the our Kirwin community again.

Through the hard work and time of community individuals, grants have been submitted and donations have been acquired to accomplish this project.  Now we are waiting in anticipation to hear back.
