Kirwin Community Improvement Committee

The Kirwin Committee Improvement Committee has announce their first community project. They are offering a reimbursement program to citizens who plant trees within the city limits.

In July of 2006, the Kansas Forestry Service conducted a tree survey in Kirwin. Below is a list of trees recommended by the Forestry Service that are appropriate for the soil composition in Kirwin as well as the local climate.

The KCIC will reimburse 50 percent of the purchase price of a tree planted within the city limit, if a copy of the receipt is provided and the type of tree matches the recommended species as listed. Reimbursement request will be honored for receipts dated April 1 through July 1, 2007. No reimbursement request received after September 1, 2007 will be paid. Limit 3 trees per person.
