Regular City Council Meeting

7:30 p.m.

The governing body of the City of Kirwin met Tuesday, December 4, 2007 for the regular city council meeting.

Present: Mayor Robert Hoffman

Council members: present: Todd Lumpkin, Rhonda Gibson, Brenda Loyd, Linda Roth, June Eakin

City employee present: City Clerk Wanda Jameson, City Superintendent Harold Holsman

Visitors present: Betty Still, Helen Canon, Bruce Stockman, Judy Stockman, Curtis Bretton,  Andy Gibson

Mayor Hoffman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Lumpkin moved, Loyd seconded to approve the minutes of the November 2007 regular meeting. Motion carried 5-0.

Bills were presented for payment.

Eakin moved, Roth seconded to pay remainder owed on the City fire truck; the remainder owed on the Siren and the December 07 Solid Waste bill using funds from the Hansen monies. Motion carried 5-0.

Loyd moved, Roth seconded to pay bills as amended. Motion carried 5-0.

Directive was given to clerk to have Nex-Tech quote pricing for the City phone service.

Comparison between EMC and current insurance was viewed.

Loyd moved, Eakin seconded to purchase 2008 insurance from EMC through Lowry Insurance.

Directive was given to clerk to have Lowry attend January council meeting.

Kirwin City Fire Department report was read.

Directive was given to City Superintendent to check on servicing the City Fire Truck.

Progress in ordinance violation on cars and properties were discussed.

Directive was given to clerk:

·        to report to council on owner of old concrete plant

·        send a letter to both parties involved with (Blk D, Range 3, Kirwin, Lots 14-16) with a 30 day compliance notice

·        send a letter to those still in violation of inoperative vehicle ordinance 

Lumpkin moved, Loyd seconded to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 5-0.

Meeting adjourned 8:33 p.m.
